I am so excited to share this DIY headboard project. I forgot to get a picture of the raw rubbermats. The colors of these rubbermats were yellow and green. There are 8 mats, 4 each color.
So, to start I primed the rubbermats and painted all with white color after 24 hours. Let it dry for another 24hours…
After the paint has dried, it is time for the painful process. This process really requires your very very long patience…
Using a masking tape, I created my pattern. Of course, you will need measuring tools, scissors. I used Ikea square mirror to help me with my square pattern.
This is the finished patterned rubber mats…it’s time to paint it with green...
Yehey! at long last it is done. What do you think?
If you are planning to throw away your rubber mats because it was out-grown by your kiddos. Please think twice. You can still salvage it like what i did. Now, we have a new headboard. You might be interested in some DIY projects here.
