Hello my Pretties,

From Google Reader to Feedly

A pretty way to read your favorite Blogs.

Have you heard of Feedly? After Google announced the shutdown of Google Reader, everybody were looking for another way to read their favorite blogs. Some  migrated to Bloglovin and Feedly.  In this post, I will be talking about Feedly as many of you are already familiar with Bloglovin.
Before I start, allow me to clarify some things. This is not a paid post nor Feedly contacted me to publish a review. What you are about to read below are purely my opinion and based on my experience.

Let’s get going, shall we? I find myself spending more time in Feedly than in Bloglovin. Why?
First, I can change the lay-out and filtering. Let me show you.
I prefer the Title lay-out because it shows today’s posts and the previous days. It is arrange by date. I find this easy to look for post that might capture my interest.

Cards View – is like I am in Pinterest.

Index View – It will show a blog list that you are following + number of unread post

History View – is a list of post by date.

Second: Mini Toolbar. I can add those sites with no GFC and Bloglovin.

Go to Preference. Scroll down and you will find Mini Toolbar setting. Choose Yes. You can use the toolbar to save sites, preview site in feedly and share it via FB, Twitter, email, G+ and Pinboard.

The mini toolbar can be found at the bottom right of the browser window.

To add a websites using the mini tool bar: Press preview site in Feedly (first green button) then just right after the site’s name is an orange add button.

You can search for sites, explore and add other blogs at any categories.

Search for the Website you would like to add. Press the + button . Input information in Category to organize your favorite sites e.g. Food Blogs, DIY and etc.

I wish they have follow Buttons and counters like Bloglovin. Bloglovin is very easy to navigate and use. I have to admit I was a bit lost when I started using Feedly but after some familiarization it went smoothly.

There you have it. I hope you find this review helpful.

I’ve been using Feedly for a few weeks. I came across it by accident before I knew Google Reader was closing down, and I switched mainly because I preferred the look and layout. I love the way I can easily save things for later as well. It makes it great for saving my links that I want to add to a blog post or share on social media later on.

Thanks so much for linking this post on my Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop at Ducks ‘n a Row. I ran a blog post last week informing readers that Google Reader will go away on July 1. The solution was not there. This post answers questions that many of us have.

Come by the hop this week? See you there.
