New Look 6016 Kids Convertible Dress

Hi Friends,

It has been a very long time I haven’t sew a thing. I have this kids’s dress pattern from New Look 6016 – Simplicity that has been hiding in my sewing/craft box for a very long time. It’s been in my to-do list like forever.  Now, I have the will to really sit down, understand the pattern and just start sewing. I am not a guru in sewing so some of the instruction in the manual is a bit difficult for me to understand.I had a hard time sewing the yoke to the front but I went on with what my instincts told me. I made it a convertible dress. My little girl liked it very much.

The New Look pattern comes with instruction manual.

I just love using bias tape in the arm hole.

I really had a hard time understanding the instruction manual in sewing the yoke. I am not sure if this was the right way to do it. This is actually my second attempt. The first dress was ok but not good enough to wear outside (mall, party etc.) So, before I use expensive fabric for this pattern I know I have to give it another try. Thus, the convertible dress.

So, this is the final convertible toddler dress. What do you think?  I’d be so happy to read your comments. Please don’t hesitate to leave it below.

Over all, the pattern is simple and easy. After 2 attempts of making this toddler dress, I am now confident to make a better version using expensive fabric. Can’t wait for my 3rd attempt :)

It looks fabulous!! Really well done. Now I want a dress like that for me as (when extended) I think it would make a great nighty too!? What do you think?
