It has been for quite a while that I really really want a bench for our room. We need something to sit on or just an area to lounge. I look around in the mall and other furniture shop, a bench would cost around $100. I don’t want to spend that much for a bench so I decided to make my own. This DIY Bench seat cost around $12 more or less including wall paper. For this project, I only spent on the wall paper because the materials that I used were from Father in Law’s garage. I also used wall paper that has wood design in black.
By the way, I had a really good arm workout. If only I could have those power tools like what other DIY bloggers have (wishing, wink wink). Anyway, I had so much fun doing this project.
Here’s the final bench. These 2 throw pillows, pillow case and the box organizers in Polka dots and zebra prints are from Singapore.
These pads are actually a decorative chair cushion and I dressed them with throw pillow case in taupe which I bought at Super Metro (Cebu City). They had a sale at that time and was able to get it for 3 for P100.00 ($2.30).
You may notice there’s uneven surface on the bench. Little Dave started to peel the wall paper! Oh my Dave! He had no idea how I patiently cover the whole bench with this beautiful wall paper. What I learned from this? I should immediately photograph my projects otherwise sooner or later something not nice will happen and I won’t get that picture perfect.
What can I do, kids will always be kids. They are sometimes a destroyer. A very cute, lovable destroyer of human things.
Do you like the wall paper?
so here’s our favorite part – the before and after.
