Tinolang Aninikad Kinason Shells

Today’s recipe that I would like to share is Tinolang Aninikad (Kinason) Shells, a type of shell fish. This is rich in vitamins, minerals and iodine. If you have Goiter this is a natural food source of iodine that will help with the function of Thyroid gland.

Once in a while, the seafood seller comes to our house to sell fresh sea food. It is a common thing here in the Philippines. Although, it is price higher but I still like it as it is convenient for me.

I enjoyed eating the Tinolang Aninikad. It was so fresh and the soup was hot. I paired it with cold soda. Bbbbuurrrrrp! It was that good. I literally finished all including the soup.

Tinolang Aninikad


  • 1kg Aninikad
  • 1 Medium Tomato
  • 2 stalks Spring Onions
  • 1 bulb Ginger (small size)
  • 1 piece Cayenne Pepper (slice in half)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoning (Magic Sarap)


Step 1
Wash and scrub Aninikad
Step 2
Boil water, Aninikad and ginger for 10mins. Stir occassionally.
Step 3
Add tomato then cayenne pepper.
Step 4
Add seasoning.
Step 5
Cook for another 5 mins.
Step 6
Add spring onions. Cook for another 1 min.
Step 7
Serve and enjoy!
